At Fire Safe International, we specialise in the provision of effective, high-quality respiratory protection equipment (RPE) to provide valuable protection against the effects of respiratory hazards in the workplace. We offer an extensive range of respiratory equipment and breathing apparatus so finding products that are ideally suited to you and your workforce won’t be a problem.
About our RPE options
The two primary categories of RPE available are Air Filtering types (Respirators) and Air Supplied types (Breathing Apparatus) often known as Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) or Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA). Our expert consultants have the experience and knowledge to help identify the most suitable equipment or apparatus for your needs. So if you need assistance when selecting the right equipment you can simply call us and speak to one of our safety professionals.
Air Filtering Equipment: How it Works
With Air Filtering equipment, a filter is used to remove the hazard, enabling the person to continue breathing as normal. It is important to ensure that the correct type of filter is used (and regularly changed) to ensure adequate protection and that the respirator mask is properly maintained and tested; any leakage will render the product useless! We can provide you with the assistance you need to ensure you select the correct filters and face piece, so that you can be confident your workforce are properly protected. In cases where there are multiple hazards or where the hazard cannot be removed by filtration, a Supplied Air RPE may be the better option; this supplies breathing air from a known clean air source – (we can provide air testing services to be sure of this!). This type of protection may be required where the volume of hazardous substance is very high or unknown, or where there is a lack of Oxygen.
Our air quality assurance services can help you ensure that any compressed air supply is safe to breath and we can properly maintain your RPE to be sure your workforce are adequately protected. Fire Safe International can provide you with the equipment and training you need to carry out these checks yourself if necessary.
